RENZO PASQUALE, Italy

“A person who wears jewellery completes the process of creating a work of art. This is where the true meaning lies. An artist creates a piece of jewellery as a poem, as a song, but the person who wears the piece sings the song along with the artist. It is the magic of the art of jewellery, when the work is reminiscent of poetry.”
RENZO PASQUALE was born in Padua, Italy. Studied biology at the University of Padua, Faculty of Biological Sciences. Accidental encounter with gemologist Bruno Lucano takes him on a personal exploration tour of the stone and metal art.
Geometric shapes, translucent ease of work, superb ability and skill to work with stones (such as rock crystal, granite, jasper…) impressed Professor Mario Pinton.
As the director of the Pietro Selvatico Institute in Padua, Mario invites Renzo to set up a stone-making art lab that could teach students these skills.
Mario Pinton thinks that Renzo’s work is so amazing and very different from the way he works himself. Renzo applies the laws of mathematics and biology and follows the path of science even in his most creative moments. The hands of this experienced stonework master make sophisticated and elegant shapes. Although purely geometric, they radiate the poetry of Italian poets.
The works of the jewellery artist Renzo Pasquale illustrate his characteristic synthesis of minimalism and poetry.
